HISTORY, MISSION STATEMENT, PLANS

NIOS was founded 2004 January 12 by Prof. Huber Robinson, Dr. Ravi P. Singh and Mr. Thanu Subrahmanian. It is a 501(c)3 Non-profit Corporation, registered in the state of Tennessee (EIN 20 0875 105). Although all the founders take great inspiration from the contemporary Bengal monk, Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, it is in no way a secular organization. NIOS aims to take the best from the past, apply it in the present, and build a better future.

In terms of human traditions, literature, art, culture, music, science the world has sufficient resources so that all human beings, all living entities, can live together in peace, friendship and prosperity with a common cause.

To this end NIOS maintains this Web-page. This Facts page is updated from time to time, and all of our life is reflected in the backbone of NIOS, newsletter, which is accessible from the our Home Page.
